Platform terms
Use FND with respect for Country, people and authority.
FND is a public directory and Nation-first platform. Access to public information does not transfer cultural authority, create a right to speak for a Nation or convert reference information into an endorsement.

Using the platform
You may use public FND information for lawful discovery, engagement and platform participation. Account holders are responsible for keeping their sign-in details secure and for information submitted through their account.
Public references
Nation names, general regions, map highlights, language references, registered agreement information and public directory records support discovery. Generalised map information must not be treated as a legal boundary, land-tenure determination or definitive statement of Country.
Nation authority and standing
FND does not decide which Nation holds Country at a location. Public reference records, ILUA records, geographic matches and directory results do not establish Nation membership, ownership, cultural authority, consent or endorsement. Nation-controlled information and Nation authority remain subject to the relevant Nation pathway.
Verification and certification
Where FND displays a verification, certification, reference or status signal, it applies only to the scope expressly shown. Users must not broaden, reproduce or describe a signal in a way that suggests a status FND has not actually granted or recorded.
Acceptable use
Users must not misrepresent FND information, scrape restricted material, bypass access controls, impersonate another person or Nation representative, submit false evidence, falsely claim verification or use cultural information beyond the permissions under which it was made available.
Academy and evidence
FND Academy records learning and competency within the scope shown for each course. Academy completion does not create Nation authority, cultural authority or a right to speak for First Nations people or a Nation. Human review remains authoritative where a course requires assessor review.
Payments and paid services
Where FND offers a paid service, sponsorship, certification or other payment pathway, the price, recipient, scope and any additional conditions shown for that transaction apply. Payment processing may be provided by a third-party payment provider. A payment does not purchase Nation authority, endorsement or standing.
Corrections, suspension and changes
FND may correct, withdraw, restrict or update information where records change, evidence is reviewed, misuse is identified, access is no longer authorised or an appropriate Nation correction is received. Platform features may change as pilots and production services mature.
Privacy
Personal information is handled under the FND privacy notice. Essential cookies and browser storage used for authentication and platform operation are described separately.
